<li>P(x) polinomu (x – a) ile tam bölünüyor ise P(a) = 0 dır.</li>
<li>P(x) polinomunun çarpanlarından biri (x – a) ise P(a) = 0 dır.</li>

<p><strong>Uyarı:</strong>P(x) polinomunun (x – a) ile bölümünden kalanı bulmak için (x – a) sıfıra eşitlenerek bulunan x değeri P(x) polinomunda x yerine yazılır.<br />
