<p>Geçen seneki bilgilerimizden hatırladığımız gibi &#8216;to be&#8217; fiilleri &#8216;am, is, are&#8217; idi. Bunlar genelde ya da halen geçerli olan durumları anlatmak için kullanılıyordu. Bu ünitede aynı durumların artık değiştiğini ya da geçmişte kaldığını anlatmak için &#8216;to be&#8217; fiillerinin past form&#8217;u olan &#8216;was were&#8217; kullanmayı öğrenecegiz.</p>

<p>Zaman ifadesi kullanmaya gerek kalmadan, genelde geçerli olan durumları anlatmak için de &#8216;am, is, are&#8217; kullanılabilir. Ancak bir ayrım yapılması istendiğinde mutlaka zaman ifadeleri verilmelidir.<br />
