<p>Hidrokarbonlar konusunda benzen türevlerinin adlandırılması üzerinde durulmuştu. Şimdi ise benzen türevlerinin özellikleri ve elde edilme yöntemleri üzerinde durulacaktır.</p>

<p>Benzen grubuna – NO2 grubunun bağlanmasıyla oluşan bileşikler nitro bileşikleri denir. Benzenin HNO3 ile tepkimesinden nitro benzen türevleri elde edilir.</p>

<p>Benzen halkasına amino (–NH2) grubunun bağlanmasıyla oluşan bileşiklerdir. Anilin zayıf baz özelliği gösterir. Bu nedenle asitlerle tepkime verir.<br />

<p>Benzen halkasındaki bir Hidrojenin yerine –OH grubunun geçmesiyle oluşan bileşiklerdir. Fenol zayıf asit özelliği gösterir. Fenol Na ve K gibi metallerle H2 gazı açığa çıkarır.<br />
Klor benzenin NaOH ile yüksek basınç aldında tepkimesinden fenol oluşur.</p>

<p>Benzen halkasındaki hidrojen atomunun yerine – COOH grubunun bağlanmasıyla oluşan bileşiklerdir. Benzoik asit benzil alkolün iki derece, benzaldehitin bir derece yükseltgenmesiyle oluşlan bileşiklerdir. Benzoik asit karboksilli asitlerin genel özelliklerini gösterir ve kuvvetli bir asittir</p>

<li> Monosakkaritlerin en önemlileri glikoz ve fruktozdur.</li>
